On April 25, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council held the 26th session (special session) of the 12th term (term 2021-2026).
Accordingly, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council voted to approve the policy of arranging administrative units.
Based on the Submissions of the Provincial People's Committee, the inspection reports of the Provincial People's Councils and the discussion opinions, the delegates voted to approve 6 important resolutions.
Including a Resolution on the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Gia Lai province. From 218 commune-level administrative units, after the arrangement, Gia Lai province will have 77 commune-level administrative units (including: 8 wards, 69 communes), a reduction of 141 units.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Council also approved the policy of arranging administrative units between Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces, unifying the name as Gia Lai province, with the new political - administrative center located in Binh Dinh province.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Mr. Ho Van Nien suggested: "Immediately after the session, the Provincial People's Committee and agencies and units urgently organize the serious implementation of the passed resolutions.
Urgently complete documents and projects to reorganize administrative units at the provincial and commune levels; submit to central agencies in accordance with procedures and regulations and ensure the time as required by the central government before May 1, 2025".
At the same time, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has stepped up propaganda on the purpose and significance of merging and consolidating provincial-level administrative units and reorganizing commune-level administrative units, creating high consensus and unity among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.
