Speaking at the ceremony to announce the merger of the new Dong Thap province, after respectfully expressing his gratitude to the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat for their trust and appointment to play an important role in the first term of the new Dong Thap province, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong promised the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Committee and the people of Dong Thap to build and maintain the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee as a collective that is always united, unified in awareness and action; upholding principles in all activities; always proactively innovating methods of operation, focusing on innovation and always making the highest efforts to successfully complete all tasks.
Affirming that being appointed to hold the responsibility of Provincial Party Secretary is an honor and pride, but also requires great efforts to unite with the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee in recognizing and acting... to complete the workload of the new province with a large population, large area, rich geographical, cultural and social conditions, and diverse and potential in the Mekong Delta. In particular, the new advantages of a province with an area of nearly 6,000 km2, more than 4.2 million people, development space stretching from the border with Cambodia, where the Tien River originates to the East Sea. With that spirit, Mr. Phong requested that the two-level government must be operated truly smoothly and effectively, quickly promoting advantages with a streamlined, efficient, effective and efficient apparatus with the highest sense of responsibility and determination to maximize the strengths, similarities, good faces, and good models of each previous province. Accordingly, Mr. Phong paid special attention to the grassroots political system.
In the new development space, the political system, especially commune-level government, must be closer to the people, closer to the people, better understand the people, care for, serve and promote the people better, Mr. Phong emphasized. From there, form a combined strength to contribute to building Dong Thap to develop rapidly, be strong, and the quality of life of the people in the province become better and better, making the new Dong Thap become a developing province in the leading group of the Mekong Delta region.
