On February 20, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province held a conference to announce the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council (PPC) and the Decisions of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the apparatus of specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.
At the Conference, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province - announced the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.
Accordingly, the Department of Finance will be established on the basis of merging the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance. Establish the Department of Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction. Establish the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of merging the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Establish the Department of Science and Technology on the basis of merging the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology. Establish the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs. Establish the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the basis of the Ethnic Committee, receiving additional functions and tasks of state management of religion from the Department of Home Affairs.

Also at the Conference, the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs announced the decisions of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province on the appointment of Directors and Deputy Directors of newly established Departments.

Accordingly, Mr. Ngo Thai Chan holds the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Mr. Dang Thanh Quang holds the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy holds the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology. Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang holds the position of Director of the Department of Construction. Mr. Duong Van Ngoang holds the position of Director of the Department of Finance. Mr. Lam Hoang Mau holds the position of Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province - requested the leaders of the newly established Departments to ensure that the work is resolved continuously and smoothly, not to let the situation of waiting for handover happen, not to leave vacant areas and fields. Especially not to affect the settlement of administrative procedures for people and businesses.
Mr. Tran Van Lau also requested units to urgently arrange and rearrange the team of cadres and civil servants, continue to implement the roadmap for streamlining the payroll, ensuring a minimum reduction of 20% of civil servants and public employees receiving salaries from the budget. During the implementation process, it is necessary to pay attention to harmoniously handling the relationship between the interests of the State, collectives and individuals.
For agencies and units not subject to reorganization, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province proposed to urgently complete the reorganization of the internal organization, striving to reduce about 15% of the number of units organized inside, ensuring streamlining, effective and efficient operations.






After completing the arrangement, Soc Trang has 13 specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee with 92 internal organizations (including 80 departments, 12 branches/equivalents and 87 public service units). Compared to before the arrangement, the province has reduced 5 specialized agencies and 21 internal organizations (15 departments, 3 branches/equivalents and 3 public service units).
