Not-so-cold news
In the early 2010s, Da Nang successfully implemented the policy of "5 no, 3 yes" ("No hungry household - No illiterate - No vagrants begging - No uncontrolled drug addicts in the community - No killing to rob property", "Having a house - having a job - having a civilized urban lifestyle"). The movement was agreed upon and spread strongly among the people. But then in 2013, there were dozens of consecutive murders in Da Nang. Each case is shocking information because of the brutal actions of the perpetrators. The press, of course, must report. But if we put out " cool" news bulletins in the news style, it will only solve the curiosity of readers. Sometimes it causes harm to the community and locality. That is the reason why I have to go deep into the underlying cause of this social phenomenon.
Unexpectedly, the police agency has had statistics: Of the 13 murders in 2013, there were 7 cases with the cause of love conflicts between men and women. All of them have the same reason for being crazy but are not rewarded, leading to hatred and brutal acts. Love and crazy love is an eternal problem, but being cruel to a co-lover becomes a social phenomenon is too unusual.
At that time, I interviewed psychologist Nguyen Duy Hoi - former lecturer of the Faculty of Sociology, Hue University. He said that the phenomenon of love murder is on the rise like syndrome, a type of social disease that is at risk of spreading. The young generation themselves are not afraid to learn, and are affected by the negative side of information and communication society. Because there are many reasons for this phenomenon, the solution needs to be synchronous. He suggested that in the immediate future, the press and media need to adjust the way of reporting, avoiding exploiting information about the incident in a suspenseful or cold manner.
A series of writers, musicians, and psychologists that I interviewed after the love cases that year all advised that writers and reporters should be very careful in every word. There must be information that guides public opinion. Especially for young readers. Show them the right thoughts and actions. Youth need to be alert, using human love to calculate. The press should also recognize the responsibility of the government and functional agencies to have a humane society... That is the difference between press reports and information on social networks.
A light source in the information matrix
If doctors treat physical illnesses and engineers create works, then journalists, with their own pens and hearts, have a different mission of reflecting the truth, reflecting the multi-dimensional aspects of life, and most importantly, contribute to orienting public opinion and creating good values for society. This mission requires journalists not only professional skills but also a pure heart, a strong will and a noble sense of responsibility.
The responsibility of a journalist is extremely heavy and sacred. That is the responsibility to the community where they live and work, to the natural environment that needs to be protected, to the sustainable development of the nation. Most importantly, it is responsibility for the truth - the core foundation of journalism.

The goal of news must be fast, competition with newspapers and social networks puts a lot of pressure on today's journalists. Current pressures and the desire to attract readers as quickly as possible can cause the social responsibility of journalists to be delegated. But one of the core missions of genuine journalism is to build trust in the community and nurture integrity in each person.
Every news report, every article - whether news report, investigation article or even long-term reporting, the ultimate goal must be a guiding light, guiding people to the values of goodness, generosity and compassion. The press arouses compassion, the spirit of mutual love, and the awareness of good behavior towards each other, towards nature and things, towards the living environment. Evidence is from inspirational stories, good deeds, good people, and journalism that contribute to building a civilized, civilized life, where bad and evil are pushed back, giving way to good things to bloom.
Amidst the complex and sometimes chaotic information flow of the digital age, readers will always look for newspapers that maintain their principles and purposes. These are places where information is carefully verified, where the truth is absolutely respected, where goodness, beauty, and kindness are respected and spread. These newspapers constantly encourage a healthy lifestyle, promote integrity and tireless efforts to contribute to building an increasingly better and more humane society.
