On June 22, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tam Duc Trinh - Deputy Director of Lai Chau Provincial Department of Construction confirmed that a landslide occurred on National Highway 4D through Son Binh Commune, Tam Duong District on the evening of June 21, causing traffic congestion. But now, the units have repaired and temporarily cleared the road so that vehicles can move.
According to Mr. Trinh, due to the impact of heavy rain at Km 76+690 on National Highway 4D through Chu Va 12 village (Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district), serious landslides occurred on both the positive and negative slopes. The scene was at risk of a road outage, seriously threatening traffic safety.
To ensure safety, the Department of Construction of Lai Chau province has announced the temporary organization of traffic diversion.
From 6:00 p.m. on June 21, all vehicles, trucks and passenger cars are prohibited from traveling through the landslide site at Km 76+690 of National Highway 4D.
Vehicles traveling from Lai Chau city to Lao Cai will turn at Km 64+500 of National Highway 4D (inter-sectoral culvert), follow National Highway 32 to Km 351+500 (Doi 9 culvert, Phuc Than commune, Than Uyen district), then turn left towards Van Ban (Lao Cai). The opposite route is applied similarly.
Lai Chau Bridge and Road 3 Joint Stock Company is assigned to coordinate with local authorities and related units to organize forces to be on duty, guide, regulate traffic, and install signs to direct traffic flow.

In Lao Cai, on June 21, heavy rain caused serious landslides, causing traffic disruption on the road connecting National Highway 4E to the center of Nam Det commune, Bac Ha district.
Up to now, the road to the center of Nam Det commune has repaired the landslides and reopened the route, ensuring traffic can return.
