On the afternoon of March 30, the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, term VIII, 2026 - 2031, held the first session, conducting the consolidation of leadership personnel positions.
At the meeting, the Provincial Election Commission reported on the results of the election of provincial People's Council deputies for the term 2026 - 2031; and announced a resolution confirming the status of deputies and awarding certificates to 67 deputies elected to the VIII Provincial People's Council.
Implementing personnel work, delegates of the Provincial People's Council elected leadership positions of the VIII Provincial People's Council. With a 100% vote rate, Mr. Lam Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the VII Provincial People's Council - continued to be trusted to be elected to hold the position of Chairman of the VIII Provincial People's Council.
Two Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council of the VII term, Mr. Lu Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - and Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Trang - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - were continued to be elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of the VIII term.
Immediately after the Provincial People's Council passed a resolution confirming the election results, the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council participated in managing the session.
Also at the session, the Provincial People's Council discussed and voted to approve the resolutions establishing 3 committees of the Provincial People's Council including: Economic - Budget Committee, Legal Committee and Culture - Society Committee.
The Provincial People's Council also elected heads of departments of the VIIIth Provincial People's Council. Mr. Bui Thanh Binh - Provincial Party Committee member - re-elected to hold the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee;
Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung - Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Cam Lam commune - was elected to hold the position of Head of the Legal Affairs Committee; Mr. Nguyen Quang Nhat was re-elected to hold the position of Head of the Culture - Society Committee. Resolutions confirming the election results were all voted on by 100% of the delegates of the Provincial People's Council.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Mr. Lam Dong said that he will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and innovate the operating methods of the Provincial People's Council; listen to and fully absorb voters' opinions, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles from the grassroots level, especially issues directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of the people, contributing to promoting the development of the province.
