Strengthening the special solidarity relationship between the armies and peoples of Vietnam and Laos

Nghe An - General Phan Van Giang leads the Vietnamese delegation to participate in border defense exchanges in Laos, strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

On July 9, a high-level delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense led by General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam as Head of the delegation went to Laos to attend activities within the framework of the 3rd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The welcoming ceremony for the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense was solemnly held at Nam On Border Gate, Nam On commune, Xaychamphone district, Bolykhamxay province, Laos.

General Khamliang Outhakaysone - Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Laos chaired the welcoming ceremony.

At the border gate area, Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of National Defense of the two countries performed salutation ceremonies, applied lipstick to sovereignty markers, took photos together and planted friendship trees.

Immediately after the activities at Nam On Border Gate, the high-level delegation of the two Ministries of National Defense continued to participate in activities in the exchange program.

General Phan Van Giang and General Khamliang Outhakaysone and high-level delegations of the two countries attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Cooperation Station under Border Guard Company 252, Bolykhamxay Provincial Military Command. The project was funded by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

Following that, the two Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of National Defense of the two countries visited, presented gifts and awarded 100 scholarships to students of Thong-nam-mun Elementary School in Xaychamphone district, Bolykhamxay province.

Within the framework of the program, General Phan Van Giang and General Khamliang Outhakaysone also visited medical examination, treatment, and free medicine distribution activities for people; and at the same time presented 50 breeding cows to 50 households in difficult circumstances in the Lao border area.

Activities in the 3rd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange contribute to strengthening the special solidarity relationship between the armies and peoples of the two countries; and at the same time affirm the determination to build a Vietnam - Laos border line of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
