Vietnam-China Navy fleet strengthens friendly cooperation

On March 16, at Fangchenggang port (Guangxi province, China), a courtesy meeting took place between commanders of two fleets of ships of the Vietnamese and Chinese Navies.

This is one of the activities within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange; 40th Joint Patrol and Joint Training in the Gulf of Tonkin with the Chinese Navy of Flotilla 015-Tran Hung Dao, Ship 012-Ly Thai To and the working delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy.

At the meeting, Colonel Han Feng - Deputy Chief of Staff of Guangzhou Base, Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy welcomed the working delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy and Flotilla of Ships 015, 012 to visit Fangchenggang city and participate in activities within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange; hoping that the visit will leave good feelings and deep impressions on officers and sailors of the two countries' navies.

Colonel Do Minh - Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, Head of the working delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy - thanked the leaders of Guangzhou Base in particular and the People's Liberation Army Navy of China in general for their warm and thoughtful reception to the delegation.

Colonel Do Minh believes that with the joint efforts of the two sides, activities within the framework of the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange and the 40th Joint Patrol, Joint Training in the Gulf of Tonkin will be successful, contributing to further strengthening understanding and trust between the Navy of the two countries in particular and the Armies of the two countries in general, thereby further strengthening the good friendly relationship between Vietnam and China.

Commanders of the two Border Guards also expressed their pleasure that in the past time, the joint patrol mechanism has contributed to maintaining security and order in the Gulf of Tonkin sea area, improving the ability to respond to non-traditional security challenges and strengthening trust and mutual understanding, promoting friendly cooperative relations between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Chinese Navy to develop more and more.

The joint patrol and joint training mission this time between the Vietnamese and Chinese navies has many new points, in which the Ministers of National Defense of the two countries will be directly present at Phòng Thành port to listen to the commanders of the two Border Guards report on the preparation work and ask for instructions to leave the port to perform the task.

At the same time, the training subjects are also richer and more diverse, with the navies of the two countries organizing live-fire shooting with light weapons for the first time in the anti-piracy subject.

Also on the same day, the working delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy visited Ship 568 of the Chinese Navy; leaders of Guangzhou Base and Chinese Navy officers also visited Ship 015 - Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162, Region 4 of the Vietnam Navy.
