At the Conference, the Politburo's Decision on the transfer, assignment and appointment of Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term was announced and appointed to join the Party Committee of Military Region 1.
Previously, on September 29, at the first official session of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress, the Politburo's Decision on the transfer, assignment, and appointment of Mr. Trinh Viet Hung - Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term and appointed him to join the Party Committee of Military Region 2.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong was born in 1977, from the former Nam Dinh province, has a master's degree in urban and construction management, and a high level of political theory.
Mr. Truong has worked in the old Lao Cai province for many years and was Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa district; Deputy Director, Director of the Department of Construction; Director of the Department of Transport - Construction; Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In February 2025, he was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, term XVI, 2020-2025.
When Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces were merged on July 1, 2025, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong was appointed by the Politburo as the new Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee.
