On October 4, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security sent a letter of commendation to the Cao Bang Provincial Police, praising their outstanding achievements in fighting organized crime and high-tech crimes for fraud and property appropriation.
The content of the letter clearly stated that the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security were reported: In the past, Cao Bang Provincial Police have presided over and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to synchronously and drastically deploy working measures to successfully combat and destroy a group of subjects operating abroad, using computer networks and electronic means to defraud and appropriate property of Vietnamese people, arrest and prosecute 39 subjects, and seize many documents and evidence of the case.
During the investigation, it was determined that the subjects had impersonated the police force, provided false information about citizen identification cards, household registration cards, etc., requested to install applications containing malware, took control of phones, and appropriated more than 700 billion VND from thousands of people.
This is an outstanding achievement, demonstrating determination, high sense of responsibility and intelligence, and sharpness in the professional skills of Cao Bang Provincial Police in implementing the direction of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on combating organized crime, high-tech crimes of fraud and property appropriation.
The results of the investigation of the case reflected the spirit of active and effective cooperation between the local police and the Ministry's professional units; thereby contributing to ensuring security, order, deterrence, crime prevention, and strengthening the people's trust in the People's Public Security force.
