At the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Politburo member, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will pay an official visit to Malaysia and attend the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from May 24 to 28, 2025, the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam on the evening of May 23 clearly stated.
On May 26-27, the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, gathering senior leaders of 10 ASEAN member countries, Timor-Leste, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and China.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the conference.
With the theme "Inclusive and Sustainable", these conferences are of great significance, an opportunity for leaders to discuss, evaluate and determine strategic orientations to strengthen cooperation, maintain the momentum to build the ASEAN Community, and at the same time improve capacity to respond, adapt and coordinate actions in the face of new challenges.
At the 46th ASEAN Summit and related conferences, ASEAN leaders are expected to sign many important documents: signing the statement of Kuala Lumpur on ASEAN 2045: Our overall future and through the ASEAN 2045 document package including ASEAN community vision and political -security community strategies, economic communities, cultural and social community, Lumpur's anniversary of the ASEAN CPE Developing ASEAN Sustainable Innovative Economic, ASEAN declaration of security commitment and self -reliance, the second GCC - GCC Summit, the General Statement on ASEAN -GCC Economic Cooperation, the joint statement of the ASEAN - GCC + China Summit. As usual, Malaysia will issue a statement of the president of the conferences.
Attending the 46th Summit and related Summits, Vietnam will continue to promote the spirit of proactiveness, positivity, and responsibility, and readiness to contribute to ASEAN's common work to strengthen solidarity and develop the ASEAN Community and reaffirm its commitment to continue to accompany, actively and responsibly contribute to the cooperation process and build a strong ASEAN Community.
