On the morning of December 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and inspected the construction progress of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, the traffic route to Hon Khoai island and Hon Khoai dual-use general port in Dat Mui commune, Ca Mau province.
After inspecting and examining the reality, working with ministries, branches, agencies and Ca Mau province right at the Front Command of the projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Dat Mui development is of great concern to General Secretary To Lam and Party and State leaders.

The Prime Minister requested strict implementation of the directions of General Secretary To Lam during his visit and working trip to Hon Khoai Island on November 19 and the Resolutions of the Government, directions of the Prime Minister on socio-economic development, associated with ensuring national defense and security in Ca Mau and Hon Khoai Island.
The Prime Minister welcomed the Ministry of National Defense, immediately after the Government issued a Resolution on the implementation of the above 4 projects, it decided to implement according to the procedures and forms of urgent construction and immediately organized the implementation; after only 4 months, from above, it was observed that the works had taken shape on the ground.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated Ca Mau province for implementing site clearance with a record time, especially that people in Ca Mau province have given land to projects and at the same time requested Ca Mau province to continue to care for, take care of, create livelihoods, resettle... so that people who have given land to projects have a better life, at least equal to before, and the following year better than the previous year.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested units to design more intersections and rest stops at traffic projects, especially the traffic route to Hon Khoai island to exploit and develop tourism, these projects are not only traffic projects but also tourism products.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that because these are construction projects in a state of emergency, he requested the Ministry of National Defense to mobilize more forces from Military Region 9 to support the construction forces to accelerate the progress of the projects. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with Can Tho City and An Giang province to allocate sand and stone mines to construction units to serve sufficient construction materials for the projects.
Construction units continue to organize construction with the spirit of "3 shifts, 4 crews; overcoming sun, winning rain, not losing storms and winds; working days is not enough, taking advantage of working nights, working extra days off; eating and sleeping urgently; only discussing work, not discussing retreat".
For connecting traffic projects, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to direct investors and contractors to accelerate the construction of the Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressway section to be completed before January 31, 2026 to complete the entire expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau and soon connect the route to Dat Mui to Hon Khoai.

Regarding the recommendations of Ca Mau province, the Prime Minister agreed to implement anti-erosion and erosion of Ca Mau coastline; requested the province to study and implement a combination of dyke embankment, road construction, and sea encroachment in the form of public-private partnership, and for key sections, make a public investment project proposal. The Prime Minister also welcomed Ca Mau province's construction of a traffic route connecting the two central areas of the province after the merger (old Ca Mau and Bac Lieu centers).
