On May 22, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a Government meeting on law-making in May 2025.
At the meeting, the Government reviewed and commented on the Law on the Law on Implementation, Temporarily detain and ban from the residence; The Law on Criminal Judgment Execution (amended); propose to develop judicial inspection laws (amended); propose to develop a thrift and waste combat law; Proposing to formulate Food Safety Law (amended); Proposing to develop the Law on Population.
With the proposal to build a thrift and waste combat law, the Prime Minister clearly stated the development of this law in order to implement the Party's policy, the direction of the Politburo and the General Secretary in promoting the prevention of wastefulness; Converting the state of passive processing to proactively preventing, preventing and repelling waste.
The Prime Minister proposed adding wasteful behaviors including wasting time and missing development opportunities.
Regarding the proposal to develop a Law on Food Safety (amended), the Prime Minister said that it is necessary to affirm the field of food safety directly related to people's health and lives, therefore the Ministry of Health must take the lead, other ministries and branches must coordinate in this work, ensuring management but meeting development requirements.
At the same time, the Prime Minister also requested agencies to urgently submit a Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP dated February 2, 2018 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety.
