Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that Ericsson will continue to be a good partner of Vietnam in the next 50-100 years.

On the morning of June 13, local time (afternoon of the same day, Hanoi time), during an official visit to Sweden, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Borje Ekholm, General Director of Ericsson Group.

At the meeting, the General Director of Ericsson hoped to continue cooperation to deploy 5G technology, promote digital transformation and industry 4.0 to support economic growth and innovation in Vietnam.

Appreciating the commitment and efforts of Vietnam and the Prime Minister personally in Vietnam's digital transformation process, he said that Vietnam is one of the first countries to successfully deploy the commercialization of the 5G network, with telecommunications - technology enterprises with great capacity.

He affirmed that mobile networks are an essential infrastructure of the country, having a reliable connection system, ensuring security and safety is an important step to promote digital society, digital government, digital economy, digital citizens, and promote innovation. Ericsson will continue to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in human resource exchange, deploying 5G-related services and being ready to deploy 6G in the future.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Ericsson's support and effective cooperation in developing digital infrastructure in Vietnam; said that Vietnam wants to cooperate more closely and effectively with Ericsson in the new period of national development; emphasized that Vietnam is strongly transforming in terms of organizational structure, institutions, awareness and vision, especially in promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and developing the private economy.

Stating that institutional problems have been resolved, the Prime Minister hopes that Ericsson will invest and cooperate more strongly, extensively, comprehensively and effectively in Vietnam, specifically accelerating the cooperation process with Vietnamese enterprises such as Viettel, VNPT, Mobifone, competing healthily with other partners, and developing breakthroughs in the coming time.

In the context of Vietnam still being a developing country and on the basis of good relations between Vietnam and Sweden, the Prime Minister suggested that Ericsson focus on cooperation to pilot new contents in innovation and research towards the 6G network; build a database to develop Vietnam's artificial intelligence; trust technology transfer to Vietnam; prioritize supporting Vietnam's telecommunications - technology corporations to catch up, progress together and rise up in the coming time.

The Prime Minister hopes that Ericsson will continue to be a good partner of Vietnam in the vision of 50-100 years to come, with the spirit of joint research, joint sharing, joint work, joint enjoyment, joint victory, joint development, in the spirit of harmonious benefits, shared risks, and competition for innovation.

Agreeing with the Prime Minister on the view of competition for innovation, the General Director of Ericsson reiterated his good impressions and said that he would return to visit Vietnam, assessing that Ericsson's relationship with Vietnamese enterprises is not only a cooperation between enterprises but also contributes to promoting the relationship between the two countries.

He affirmed his full support and readiness to do everything possible to support Vietnam in promoting resources, "taking the lead" in digitalization and not repeating the problems encountered in this process.
