On the morning of June 12 (local time), during a working visit to Sweden, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and delivered a policy speech at Stockholm University of Economics.
Dr. Sophie Roy, Vice President of Stockholm University of Economics, said the school has international standard training and research programs, and is one of the leading business training institutions in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
The school has had 3 Nobel Prize-winning researchers and is a place that has trained many senior leaders. The school has welcomed many heads of state to visit and give policy statements.
Ms. Sophie Roy emphasized that Sweden and Vietnam have a long-standing relationship, in which education and research play an important role in promoting sustainable development and innovation. The school currently has a number of Vietnamese students studying and hopes to welcome more students in the future.
Speaking to the school's professors, lecturers and students, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his impression of the school's "Friendship" education philosophy, which coincides with the value of "Independence - freedom - Happiness" in President Ho Chi Minh's 1945 Declaration of Independence.
The Prime Minister recalled historical milestones in the relationship between the two countries, including the Swedish awarding of the documentary Vietnam Victory and the people of Stockholm taking to the streets to celebrate the victory of the Vietnamese people on April 30, 1975.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled the image of the late Prime Minister Olof Palme holding a torch leading a parade to protest the war in Vietnam in 1968 and typical works such as the Swedish Children's Hospital, the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, and the Bai Bang Paper Factory.
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that this visit will have a new symbolic meaning for the bilateral relationship.
The Prime Minister pointed out the current world context with many complex changes, emphasizing the trend of peace and cooperation is still the main trend but there are many tensions and local conflicts.
Countries need to strengthen solidarity, promote multilateralism, cooperate and fight, exploit similarities, and limit disagreements.
The Prime Minister outlined 3 factors that have a major impact on the world's future, including: explosion of science and technology and AI; traditional and non-traditional security challenges; geopolitical and geoeconomic polarization.
The three pioneering areas are identified as: Digital economy, green and circular economy; innovation and entrepreneurship; high-quality human resource development and AI.
The Prime Minister shared Vietnam's development vision and cooperation prospects with Sweden. The two countries need to promote political cooperation, promote trust and friendship, and orient bilateral relations to become more substantial and effective, especially in science and technology, innovation and sustainable development.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; effectively implement EVFTA and soon put the EVIPA into effect. The two countries need to replicate successful business models and have more typical cooperation projects.
The two sides need to make a breakthrough in cooperation in digital transformation, green and innovation, and soon implement a strategic partnership in this field.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Government and people of Sweden for creating favorable conditions for the community of more than 22,000 Vietnamese people in Sweden and affirmed that Vietnam is always a loyal friend, ready to join Sweden in continuing to build two powerful and prosperous countries.
