Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the Gunma Provincial government (Japan) continue to pay attention to and promote cooperation with Vietnamese localities.

At noon on October 21, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Yamamoto Ichita - Governor of Gunma Prefecture, Japan, who is visiting and working in Vietnam. Also attending the meeting was Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Governor Yamamoto Ichita were pleased to see the strong development of the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with many outstanding, substantial and effective results and increasingly high political trust. Local, cultural cooperation, human resource connection and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries are increasingly close and effective.

Welcoming the 5th visit of the Governor of Gunma province to Vietnam, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the Governor and the provincial government for their support and active promotion of friendly cooperation between Gunma province and Vietnam, especially with Ninh Binh province, in areas such as economy, investment, trade, tourism, human resources and culture.

The Prime Minister suggested that the Gunma provincial government continue to pay attention to and promote cooperation with Vietnamese localities, including localities in Gunma province that have had relations such as Ninh Binh province (formerly Ha Nam province), through specific and substantial cooperation projects, promoting the strengths of each locality, bringing harmonious benefits to all parties and studying the possibility of cooperation and signing with newly established localities.

The Prime Minister also suggested Gunma Province to send a delegation to attend the Vietnam - Japan Local Forum scheduled to take place in November 2025. At the same time, continue to pay attention to, encourage and promote Gunma province's enterprises to expand investment in Vietnam in areas where the province has strengths such as aerospace, agriculture, processing and manufacturing industry, supporting industry, etc. and areas in Vietnam that are in need such as innovation, science and technology, digital transformation, green transformation, semiconductors, high-tech agriculture;

Promote connections and cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, participate in fairs and exhibitions, contribute to connecting the two economies according to the policy of senior leaders, diversify markets, products and supply chains.

The Prime Minister proposed promoting cooperation in training and receiving high-quality human resources in accordance with the needs of Gunma province and Vietnamese enterprises, especially in the fields of innovation, science and technology, semiconductors, and supporting industries; continuing to pay attention, create favorable conditions and continue to have many practical support policies for the community of 16,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the province.

The Governor of Gunma province expressed his honor to visit Vietnam for the 5th time, highly appreciating the Vietnamese community in Gunma for their many positive contributions to the development of the province and the relationship between the two countries.

Sharing that many Japanese enterprises are looking to invest in Vietnam in the coming time, the Governor suggested that the Prime Minister continue to support and create conditions for Gunma province to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in general, as well as Vietnamese enterprises and localities in all fields as directed by the Prime Minister.
