The official visit to Malaysia, attending the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits of Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam (from May 24-28) were a great success and achieved many important results.
During the visit, the Malaysian Government gave the Prime Minister and the delegation a warm and respectful reception with the highest rituals; demonstrating special respect for Vietnam - Malaysia's only Comprehensive Strategic partner in ASEAN.
During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had practical and effective exchanges with senior Malaysian leaders. The two sides agreed on orientations to further strengthen the connection between the two economies; agreed to strive to bring bilateral trade turnover to 20 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced manner; limit the application of trade barriers.
The two countries' major agencies and enterprises have actively negotiated, agreed and reached 3 important, breakthrough agreements in the fields of energy cooperation and education and training.
In particular, within the framework of the ASEAN 46 Summit, the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Singapore witnessed the signing ceremony of the Appendix to the development cooperation agreement on the export of wind power offshore from Vietnam to Singapore. This is a big step in energy cooperation, consistent with the renewable energy movement policy of countries, opening up the prospect of building ASEAN common grid.
The 46th ASEAN Summit and related conferences ended with important milestones. The Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh demonstrated a proactive and responsible spirit, with many practical contributions and breakthrough proposals. The Prime Minister issued the message "5 more": More Solidarity, More self-reliance, More Proactiveness, More Inclusion and More Sustainability, as a foundation to strengthen collective strength, ensure inclusive development.
Vietnam's messages and contributions at the Conference have contributed to spreading innovative thinking in ASEAN, continuing to affirm Vietnam's proactive, positive and responsible role in creating a stable and sustainable development future for the region.
