Rural tourism, green tourism is the trend
According to Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, tourism is an important economic sector, a "smokeless industry", contributing increasingly to the economies of countries and is a development trend of the future.
The Vietnamese Government always pays attention to, promulgates and implements many mechanisms and policies for rural agricultural development, and includes rural tourism in major development programs.
“One of the important orientations is to "develop local specialties, craft villages, develop service economy, and rural tourism on the basis of preserving and promoting local culture" - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
Many localities in Vietnam have exploited the strengths of rural tourism, associated with the orientation of green tourism and sustainable development. After Tan Hoa Village (Quang Binh), Thai Hai Village (Thai Nguyen), up to now, Tra Que Vegetable Village (Quang Nam) has been recognized by the United Nations Tourism Organization as the best tourist village, according to ASEAN criteria.
The United Nations Tourism Organization is expanding the implementation of the "Tourism for Rural Development Program" to contribute to the protection of natural and cultural resources, community empowerment and job creation. This is a very meaningful program and is consistent with the three pillars of sustainable development (economic, social, environmental).
“This is consistent with Vietnam's development strategy and distinct potentials, competitive advantages, and outstanding opportunities with the orientation of rapid, sustainable development, green transformation, digital transformation, green economic development, digital economy, and circular economy,” the Deputy Prime Minister assessed.
