On the evening of August 28, at the Ho Guom Theater (Hanoi), General Secretary, President To Lam and his wife chaired the Ceremony to celebrate the 81st National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026).
Reading the Speech at the Anniversary Ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam emotionally recalled that every autumn, millions of Vietnamese hearts reminisce about the historic Ba Dinh Square, where 81 years ago President Ho Chi Minh respectfully read the Declaration of Independence - declaring to the world about the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Each sentence, each word of that nation's proclamation, despite going through many ups and downs of history, still retains its value, is the sound echoing in the minds of every Vietnamese child, is the source of the great national unity of Vietnam.

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that, looking back at the glorious journey from 1945 to present, every Vietnamese citizen is extremely proud, national pride and even more confident in the journey of realizing strategic goals, towards two milestones of 100 years of history: by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the glorious founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam becomes a country with modern industry, high average income; by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam is a developed country with high income, prosperity and happiness.
On the road to the new era, the Communist Party of Vietnam always places the people as the subject, as the center, all guidelines and policies truly originate from the lives, aspirations, legitimate rights and interests of the people, taking the happiness and prosperity of the people as the goals to strive for.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that throughout the historical journey, Vietnam has received the valuable support and assistance of the international community; The Party, State and people of Vietnam sincerely thank and wish to continue to receive the companionship, support, and close cooperation of friends, partners, the business community and foreign investors in the process of international integration of the new development era.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge for cooperation and dialogue, ready to participate more and more practically in handling common issues of the international community; supporting a multilateral system of equality and fairness with the United Nations as the center. That is not only an affirmation of Vietnam's responsibility but also a deep gratitude for the sincere and meaningful support and assistance that friends and people around the world have given to Vietnam in the journey of building and protecting the country in recent years.
On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, Heads of diplomatic missions, leaders and representatives of regional and international organizations in Vietnam, speaking to congratulate at the Anniversary, Mr. Raul Juan Pollak Giampietro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Eastern Uruguay to Vietnam, emphasized that Vietnam is facing the threshold of a new era after four decades of successfully implementing the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, making the country a modern, dynamic and prosperous country, creating breakthrough reforms and achieving important steps in socio-economic development.
