Commemorating the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, on the morning of May 19, the Hanoi City Party Committee organized a ceremony to award 80-year, 75-year, and 70-year Party Badges to 34 veteran Party members who are active at the Hanoi City Party Committee. General Secretary and President To Lam attended and spoke at the ceremony.
Priceless source of spiritual strength
According to General Secretary and President To Lam, the Party Badge is a noble reward of the Party. The 70-year, 75-year, and 80-year Party badges also have special great significance. It is the recognition of the Party for a lifetime of striving, sacrificing, training and dedication. It is a symbol of loyalty, honor, and a steadfast oath to the Party, to the Fatherland, and to the people.
Looking at veteran Party members, we understand one thing even more deeply: The strength of the Party lies not only in the correct line, tight organization, and strict discipline. That strength first of all lies in each specific communist person; lies in the qualities, bravery, ethics, lifestyle and exemplary actions of each cadre and Party member" - General Secretary, President To Lam emphasized.
According to General Secretary and President To Lam, a Party that wants to lead the people must be worthy of the people's trust. A party member who wants to mobilize and persuade the masses must first live a clean life, match words with deeds, put themselves in the discipline of the Party and the supervision of the people. A generation of cadres who want to shoulder the responsibility of the country must know how to appreciate revolutionary history, respect the previous generation, and look at exemplary examples to correct themselves, train themselves, and elevate themselves.
The lives of the elders, uncles, and comrades remind us of a simple but profound thing: Communist Party members do not only live for themselves. Party members must live with ideals, be responsible to the Party, to the Fatherland, to the people; know how to put common interests first and foremost; the higher the position, the more humble, clean, and responsible they must be; the more power they have, the more they must bind themselves with discipline, morality, honor, and the interests of the people.
According to General Secretary and President To Lam, our country is entering a new era of development. Opportunities are very large, requirements are very high, difficulties and challenges are numerous. We are implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; continuing to improve the organizational structure to be streamlined, efficient, effective, and efficient; promoting institutional innovation, science and technology development, digital transformation; building an independent, self-reliant, deeply integrated economy; maintaining political stability, consolidating national defense and security, firmly protecting the Fatherland and improving people's lives.
To do those great things, our Party must be truly clean and strong. The State must truly be of the people, by the people, for the people. Cadres and party members must be truly pioneers and exemplary. All guidelines and policies must originate from life, from the legitimate aspirations of the people. All actions must aim for the highest goal of a powerful country, a prosperous, free, and happy people.
In that journey, the revolutionary tradition of generations of veteran Party members is a priceless source of spiritual strength. It is not only history for us to be proud of, but also a foundation for us to act. It is not only a heritage to cherish, but also a standard for each cadre and Party member today to self-examine, self-correct, self-cultivate, and self-enhance responsibility to the Party and the people" - General Secretary and President To Lam said.

Promoting prestige, intelligence, experience and revolutionary sentiment
In the Party Badge awarding ceremony on May 19, the Hanoi City Party Committee had 8,511 party members honored to receive Party Badges, including many comrades who received badges from 70 years of Party membership or more. According to General Secretary and President To Lam, this is a great pride of the Capital Party Committee. But pride always goes hand in hand with responsibility. The greater the honor, the greater the responsibility.
Hanoi's responsibility is to make revolutionary traditions continue to shine in each Party organization, each agency, unit, each residential area, each cadre and party member; so that the people of the Capital see the Party close to them, listen to them, understand them, for them and act for their lives.
Hanoi must take the lead in building a clean and strong Party and political system; take the lead in innovation, digital transformation, modern urban management; take the lead in cultural development, building elegant and civilized people; take the lead in maintaining discipline, law, taking care of people's lives, building trust and social consensus.
General Secretary and President To Lam hoped that the elders, uncles, and veteran party members would continue to maintain their health; promote their prestige, intelligence, experience and revolutionary feelings; continue to be a reliable spiritual support for Party committees, authorities and people; continue to contribute opinions on Party building and government building; educate revolutionary traditions for children and young generations. Each exemplary lifestyle in families and residential areas is a convincing example, spreading beauty in daily life. Each steadfast, bright, and responsible attitude of a veteran party member is a consolidation of faith, preserving solidarity, and building a solid political foundation from the grassroots level.
General Secretary and President To Lam requested the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Hanoi City to continue to pay more deep attention to the material and spiritual life of the elderly Party members. It is necessary to regularly visit, listen, and respectfully receive the heartfelt and responsible opinions of the elders, uncles, and comrades. This is not only affection, but also political responsibility and moral responsibility of the Capital Party Committee.
