The province also completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses 5 months earlier than planned; the fields of culture, education, health, and social security continue to be concerned.

However, Son La still faces many difficulties such as growth not reaching the target, limited transportation and digital infrastructure, and investment attraction not commensurate with its potential.

At the working session, the province proposed that the Central Government soon invest in expanding the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway to 4 lanes; deploy the Moc Chau - Son La - Dien Bien - Tay Trang border gate expressway; approve the detailed plan of Na San Airport and support resources to invest in a number of key infrastructure projects.

Concluding, General Secretary and President To Lam assessed that Son La has many development opportunities from the expressway system, high-tech agriculture, tourism and renewable energy.

However, localities need to clearly define the development model, focus resources on areas that can create breakthroughs, not develop scattered and not trade off the environment for growth.

General Secretary and President emphasized the requirement that Son La must turn expressways into development corridors, associated with planning logistics centers, processing zones, urban areas, services and tourism along the route, instead of just roads passing through the area.

For agriculture, Son La needs to reorganize production according to the value chain, strengthen links between raw material areas and processing plants; develop key products such as Arabica coffee, tea, fruit trees, milk and pharmaceuticals.
