General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on the afternoon of December 1, 2024 at the Party Central Committee Headquarters.

On December 1, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam had a phone call with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, VNA reported.

General Secretary To Lam sent his best wishes to the Party, State and people of Laos on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and sent his regards to senior Lao leaders.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will continue to achieve even greater achievements, making Laos increasingly prosperous and strong.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his delight at the continuous development of Vietnam-Laos relations in all fields, including continued strengthening of political relations; effective promotion of defense-security cooperation; and positive developments in economic, cultural, educational, scientific-technical cooperation.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Vietnam-Laos relationship has always played a particularly important role and is a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy, considering it one of the strategic tasks of vital significance to the revolutionary cause, construction and defense of the Fatherland of the Vietnamese people.

During the phone call, General Secretary To Lam shared a number of major policies and decisions of the Vietnamese Party and State to bring the country into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith highly appreciated the significance of the phone call, demonstrating the special solidarity between the two Parties, States and peoples; sincerely thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always giving the Lao Party, State and people special attention and assistance.

The Lao General Secretary and President affirmed the importance and strategic significance of the Vietnam-Laos relationship and emphasized that the Vietnam-Laos relationship is decisive for the security and development of each country. Laos will continue to support and do its utmost to preserve and foster this special relationship to develop better and better.

Affirming that he is a close friend and comrade of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his joy and congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in the fields of politics, foreign affairs, national defense, security, and socio-economy, considering this a lesson and a source of encouragement for the cause of national construction and development of the Lao Party, State and people.

Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will successfully carry out its assigned tasks and steadily enter an era of national growth.

During the phone call, the two leaders discussed and agreed on a number of specific directions to implement the Vietnam-Laos High-Level Agreement, promote existing mechanisms, improve the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields, and further strengthen the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, for the practical interests of the people of each country, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
