This morning (December 9), in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam worked with the Central Economic Committee on the results of the implementation of tasks since the beginning of the 13th term and the direction and tasks in the coming time, according to VOV.
Attending the conference were Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; Secretaries of the Party Central Committee: Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Head of the Central Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung.
Also attending were Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Party Central Committee members, leaders of Party committees, the Party Central Office, and the Office of the General Secretary.
Speaking at the opening of the working session, General Secretary To Lam affirmed the important role of the Central Economic Commission as the Party's strategic advisory body in formulating the Party's guidelines and policies in the country's socio-economic development process.
The General Secretary noted that the risks of falling behind and deviating from the economic development process can occur at any time, so the Central Economic Committee needs to focus on researching and advising on socio-economic development directions for the Party and State in the coming time.
The General Secretary suggested: "We do not go into specific management, that is the Government's job, but the Committee must advise to issue policies and strategies for socio-economic development. That is the role of the Central Economic Committee. The task and role of the Committee is very important, we cannot just wait for the Central Committee to assign us a task to complete it, the important thing is that the Committee must be proactive, positive, look far and wide, proactively advise and propose solutions to direct and manage so that the country can develop stably and long-term in the coming time".
The report of the Central Economic Committee at the working session said that since the beginning of the term, the Committee has presided over the development and completion of 23 socio-economic projects submitted to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Of which, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat issued 19 resolutions, directives, and conclusions, specifically including: 3 resolutions of the Central Executive Committee; 7 resolutions and 4 conclusions of the Politburo; 2 conclusions and 3 directives of the Secretariat.
These are extremely important documents to concretize and organize the implementation of the Party's major viewpoints and orientations on socio-economic development set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
In addition to presiding over the development of projects, the Committee has closely and effectively coordinated with relevant agencies to develop 15 projects for submission to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat for consideration and issuance of resolutions, directives, and conclusions, contributing to enhancing the Party's leadership role in socio-economics.
The resolutions that the Central Economic Commission has advised and submitted to the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat since the beginning of the term, as well as the contents that the Commission is continuing to research to submit in the coming time, have made and will make an important contribution to the implementation of the 6 key tasks and 3 strategic breakthroughs set forth by the 13th National Party Congress; at the same time, they will contribute to the construction of the documents of the 14th National Party Congress in accordance with the direction of General Secretary To Lam in his recent speeches and articles.
