On January 6, at the 2-9 Hall (Pleiku city), General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation visited and worked with key officials of Gia Lai province.
Reporting to General Secretary To Lam and the working delegation, Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien said that it is estimated that during the 2020 - 2025 term, the economic growth rate (GRDP) of Gia Lai province will increase by an average of 6.21% per year.
The rate of households using clean and hygienic water reaches 98%; the forest coverage rate reaches 47.75%. In 2024, the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate (at 2010 comparative prices) will reach 3.28%, with GRDP per capita reaching VND 68.02 million (an increase of VND 7.45 million compared to 2023).
To create momentum to help Gia Lai accelerate and make breakthroughs in the coming time, Gia Lai province proposed that the Central Government have mechanisms and policies, and allocate enough budget capital for the province to focus on implementing important infrastructure projects and key projects.
Provincial Party Secretary Ho Van Nien also requested the Government to direct the Ministry of Transport to promptly complete the investment dossier for the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway to start construction before August 2025.
At the meeting, the Ministries of Transport, Industry and Trade, and Agriculture and Rural Development, in addition to providing information and support to Gia Lai on key projects in the area, also proposed to the General Secretary solutions and mechanisms to remove and resolve difficulties.
Among them, there are key projects such as: Quy Nhon - Pleiku Highway; implementing the Pleiku Airport planning project for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; and the Gia Lai - Dak Lak connecting route.
Central ministries and branches also proposed solutions to remove obstacles to put wind power projects into operation, convert ineffective rubber areas, and convert irrigation areas of Ia Mor irrigation system...
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and commended the results achieved by Gia Lai province in recent times.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that Gia Lai province closely follow the Central Resolutions, approved plans and strategies, and promote the spirit of initiative, creativity and innovation.
Gia Lai needs to promote economic development based on three main pillars: Developing high-tech agriculture, developing a number of selective industries based on the locality's outstanding comparative advantages such as: Processing industry, renewable energy, construction materials.
Developing tourism into a green economy, a spearhead, sustainable, high-quality and distinctive economic sector, bearing the identity of the Central Highlands, making Gia Lai an attractive destination, contributing to the Vietnamese tourism brand.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented the Party Committee, government and people of Glar commune, Dak Doa district with a medical station worth 5 billion VND to meet the needs and improve medical examination and treatment and primary health care for local people.
