The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that at the reception, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Prime Minister Adylbekymaliev and the high-ranking delegation for their official visit to Vietnam, believing that the visit will open a new phase for the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the friendly relationship with Kyrgyzstan - a traditional friend that has supported the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for independence and in today's national construction, emphasizing that this is an invaluable asset built by the leaders and people of the two countries.
The General Secretary assessed that over the past 3 decades, political and diplomatic relations have been strengthened, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has had positive developments, however, there is still much room for exploitation and promotion, and hopes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields on the basis of agreements and commitments between the two sides, effectively taking advantage of the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the ASEAN-China Economic Union; the two countries can promote their connecting role in the Central Asia and ASEAN regions.
The Kyrgyz Prime Minister expressed his deep impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and increasingly high international position under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and wished to share Vietnam's experience in development.
The Kyrgyz Prime Minister shared that during the talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the two sides agreed to propose specific directions to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges; emphasizing that the country has many mountains and hills, hoping to strengthen relations with Vietnam in the field of mountain protection, welcoming Vietnam to attend international conferences on mountains and hills organized by Kyrgyzstan.
Discussing the directions for developing bilateral relations in the coming time, the two leaders agreed that the two countries have great potential to promote bilateral cooperation on the basis of harmonious interests; emphasizing the need to promote contacts at all levels, through all bilateral and multilateral channels, the Party and the National Assembly to enhance political trust; promote the establishment of cooperation mechanisms between ministries, branches and localities.
Agreeing to assess the potential for cooperation in many fields, the two leaders emphasized that the two sides should further promote the field of security and defense cooperation, enhance transportation connectivity, including air, rail, logistics, and connecting Vietnam and Southeast Asia with Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.
On this occasion, the General Secretary also thanked the Kyrgyz Government for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Kyrgyzstan.
Regarding multilateral cooperation, the two sides agreed to increase contacts, consultations, and consider supporting each other's candidates and initiatives in multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Asian Economic Union.
