General Secretary To Lam welcomed General Secretary of the Mozambique Liberation Front Party to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

VNA reported that on April 28, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received General Secretary of the Party Committee of the liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO) of ruling Chakil Aboobabcar, who is on a working visit to Vietnam, and attended the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day from April 26 to May 1, 2025.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed and thanked General Secretary Chakilaboobabcar for leading a high-ranking delegation of the FRELIMO Party to visit Vietnam and attend the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The General Secretary emphasized that the participation of the FRELIMO Party, along with friends and brothers from Africa as well as from many regions around the world, is a great joy, support and encouragement for the Party, State and People of Vietnam in these meaningful days.

The General Secretary expressed his confidence that this visit of the FRELIMO Party Delegation will be even more meaningful as it takes place right on the occasion of the two countries preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (June 25, 1975 - June 25, 2025).

FRELIMO CHAKIL ABOBABCAR Party General Secretary would like to send congratulations to the FRELIMO Party Chairman, President Daniel Chapo to General Secretary To Lam, the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State and the Vietnamese people on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Southern Liberation Day, the country's reunification and towards the 50th anniversary of establishing Vietnam - Mozambique diplomatic relations.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining and promoting the relationship between the two ruling parties in orienting the relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique on the basis of political trust to expand cooperation to areas of cooperation where both sides have needs and strengths such as oil and gas, liquefied gas, mineral exploitation, food production, healthcare, etc. At the same time, focus on cultural cooperation and enhance people-to-people exchanges.

The Mozambique side welcomes and is ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to learn about and invest in business in Mozambique.

General Secretary To Lam also expressed his readiness to cooperate, support, and share experiences in the agricultural sector, contributing to ensuring food security for Mozambique.

The two leaders also discussed a number of specific measures to promote Party channel cooperation, including the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two Parties for the 2025-2030 period, exchanging experiences in leadership and national management, Party building and solving socio-economic issues and expanding cooperation in training and coaching cadres of the two Parties.

Discussing a number of international issues of mutual concern, the two leaders agreed that the two Parties and two countries continue to promote traditions, coordinate and support each other in multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, ASEAN and the African Union, etc.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that the FRELIMO Party and Mozambique support the stance of Vietnam and ASEAN on resolving maritime disputes by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and ASEAN's efforts to build the East Sea as a sea of peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development.
