On the afternoon of December 2, General Secretary To Lam and members of the National Assembly delegation of Hung Yen province met with voters in Hung Yen city to report on the results of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly and listened to voters' opinions and recommendations, according to VNA.
At the meeting with voters, General Secretary To Lam reported to voters an overview of the results of handling and responding to voters' petitions sent to the sessions of the 15th National Assembly.
Regarding the content of streamlining the apparatus, General Secretary To Lam stated that all levels and sectors from the Central to the grassroots level must determine the highest political determination in implementing this policy with the spirit of "the Central level sets the example, the provinces and districts follow" and must do so urgently.
Each level and each sector must closely follow the plan to summarize and propose models for their agencies and units to ensure progress (ministries and sectors must complete in December 2024); aiming for the common goal of completing and reporting to the Central Government the plan to arrange and perfect the organization and apparatus of the political system in the first quarter of 2025.
Streamlining does not mean mechanically cutting down, but eliminating unnecessary positions, reducing ineffective work, thereby focusing resources on key areas, on truly worthy and suitable people. Do not let state agencies become a "safe haven" for weak officials.
Each agency and unit must carry out well the political and ideological work and the regime and policies for cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers affected by the restructuring of the organization and apparatus; ensure fairness, transparency, objectivity and avoid complications. Streamlining the apparatus requires sacrifices from cadres and party members.
Regarding the work of preventing and combating waste, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in every revolutionary stage, our Party and State have always paid special attention to the work of preventing and combating waste. The General Secretary pointed out that waste is still quite common, in many different forms, and has been causing many serious consequences for development.
This causes a decline in human resources, financial resources, reduced production efficiency, increased cost burden, resource depletion, and widening the gap between rich and poor. Moreover, waste also causes a decline in people's trust in the Party and State, creates invisible barriers in socio-economic development, and misses development opportunities for the country.
Therefore, it is necessary to unify awareness and determination to fight against waste, corruption and negativity to build a strong Party and focus on widespread propaganda, raising awareness and responsibility among cadres, party members and workers.
Responding to voters' opinions on the policy of restarting the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the policy of restarting the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project and continuing to research the Nuclear Power Program in Vietnam aims to firmly ensure national energy security, meet the goals of socio-economic development, enhance scientific and technological potential and sustainable development of the country.
