President Emmanuel Macron mentions the eight-line poem to describe Vietnam-France relations

Thanh Hà |

President Emmanuel Macron said that the connection between France and Vietnam is similar to the six-part poem Bo Bo of Vietnam.

On the evening of May 26, at the International Convention Center, Hanoi, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife presided over a solemn reception for President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and his wife.

The President said that his visit to Vietnam this time took place just 7 months after the visit to France by General Secretary and President To Lam; thereby, affirming the importance and determination of the leaders of the two countries in developing Vietnam - France relations.

The President hopes that the image of France - a traditional friend, will continue to exist on the journey towards prosperity, wealth and civilization of Vietnam.

The President emphasized that the two countries still have a lot of room to exploit together in areas such as the Fair Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), marine environmental protection and towards the United Nations Ocean Conference in France in June 2025, expanding to new areas such as strategic infrastructure, urban transport, mining, etc.

Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with the French Republic, a country with many experiences and advanced technology platforms, to jointly build breakthrough projects, not only serving the interests of the two peoples, but also contributing to solving urgent problems of humanity.

The President believes that the Vietnam - France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to reach out, achieving new development achievements, worthy of the potential, expectations and interests of the two peoples.

In his opening speech, President Macron expressed his joy at his first discovery of the beautiful country of Vietnam, especially the capital Hanoi.

Referring to Hanoi with the name "City by the river", where the North crosses the Red River by countless bridges, the French President is happy to be with Vietnamese friends to celebrate all bridges that have brought the two countries closer together, connecting between the past and the present.

According to President Macron, the bridges that bring the two countries closer together are bridges built by the French -Vietnamese community. A wonderful community, surpassing the sea and the continents, creating a great combination between the two cultures and deepening the friendship and strengthening the people of the two countries.

The French leader emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new era of development, from the "Southern mountains and rivers" that Ly Thuong Kiet once praised to the Red River Delta, Vietnam is rapidly and extraordinarily transforming, thereby gradually affirming its role and position in the region and the world, as well as in dealing with global challenges.

President Macron affirmed that France has always stood side by side with Vietnam and is ready to build "other bridges" in politics, economy, culture and language. At the same time, he welcomed the agreements signed during this visit, opening up promising prospects.

Referring to the eight -six poetry form of Vietnam, President Macron said that the cohesion between the two countries is similar to the elegant poetry that remains in the rhythm of this 6 - 8. Each verse exists through the previous verse and creates the next verse. Each of the new common history of the two countries has the power from previous historical lines and sketched the lines of tomorrow.
