On the afternoon of August 12, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee on preparations to organize the inauguration ceremony and start construction of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, as of August 11, the Ministry of Construction has reviewed and compiled over 250 large projects and works of ministries, branches, localities, corporations, and general companies in 34 provinces and cities that are eligible for construction and inauguration, with a total investment of about VND 1,260,000 billion from State capital and other capital sources.
The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony is expected to be held on August 19.; with the central location at the National Exhibition Center, Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi and 80 online and live television locations at projects and works.
The program is broadcast live on Vietnam Television, radio and television stations in the localities.
After listening to reports, opinions and concluding statements, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the increasingly experienced preparation work of relevant agencies.
Suggesting and giving opinions on some specific contents, the Prime Minister emphasized the organization of events to continue to contribute to creating motivation, inspiring, arousing aspiration, the spirit of dedication, creating momentum, creating force, creating conditions for national construction and development.
Direct agencies and units to continue to proactively and actively implement work according to their functions, tasks, and powers, the head of the Government requested to continue reviewing, updating, and selecting truly outstanding works and projects.
Organize the groundbreaking and inauguration to ensure practicality, efficiency, impression, solemnity, meaning, dissemination, economy, and compliance with regulations; do a good job of rewarding and honoring on this occasion; pay attention to promoting communication work on projects before, during and after the event; ensure security and safety for the event.
Expressing his emotion in the red stands of the national flag, tens of thousands of people sang the song of the Marching Song, the Prime Minister said that the programs had caused a great resonance, attracting hundreds of thousands of audiences, contributing to inspiring, spreading the spirit of patriotism and the desire to contribute to the people of all walks of life.
The Prime Minister also highly appreciated the talent, creativity, spirit of serving the people and patriotism of the artists, organizers, and those who implemented the program.
Previously, on August 10, the Prime Minister inspected and conducted a surprise inspection of the preparation of a series of important events, including the National Achievement Exhibition with the theme "80 years of independence - freedom - Happiness" at the National Exhibition Center.
The Prime Minister also visited and encouraged the production team and artists who are practicing to prepare for the grand music festival held here.
