On July 14, the Central Youth Union coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and other units to organize a press conference for the 6th Vietnam Young Intellectuals Global Forum.
The program was attended by Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU), Head of the Forum Organizing Committee.
The Global Vietnam Young Intellectuals Forum is an annual forum organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union since 2018. Through 5 forums, more than 1,000 young intellectuals at home and abroad have contributed to programs and policies related to the development of young Vietnamese talents.
Through the years of organizing the Forum, the Central Youth Union established the Global Vietnam Young Intellectuals Network with a mechanism for activities and regular exchanges of more than 2,000 young intellectuals around the world.
This year, the Forum was held from July 19 to 21 at VinUni University, Hanoi with 201 official delegates, more than 300 delegates attending and guests attending in person or online. The Organizing Committee also invited 15 highly prestigious scientists to join the Advisory Council.
At the Forum, in addition to the general theme, delegates will focus on discussing 4 specific groups of contents: Application of A.I and new technologies to improve labor productivity; Innovation startups associated with green economy and sustainable development; Sustainable adaptation to the challenges of the era of global change; Developing cultural and educational foundations in the new era.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Youth Union of Vietnam - affirmed that the Global Vietnam Young Intellectuals Forum is a practical activity, concretizing important resolutions of the Politburo recently such as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science - technology - innovation and national digital transformation, or Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private economic development, affirming the pioneering role of young intellectual human resources in the journey to bring the country into a new era of development.
The discussion topics are also designed to focus more on emerging groups of global issues, requiring the contribution of young intellectuals themselves - those who are at the forefront of innovation, research, and future creation. In particular, the dialogue sessions are not only theoretical but also focus on practical policy recommendations, which can be converted into specific actions after the Forum.
We hope that these innovations will help the Forum not only be a place to exchange ideas, but also a bridge between intellectuals - policies - markets, contributing to bringing the initiatives, knowledge and gray content of the young Vietnamese intellectual team directly into the flow of national development in the new period, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized.
After the forum, outstanding initiatives and solutions of young intellectuals will be compiled into a Report on recommendations from the global Vietnamese young intellectual community to send to Party and State leaders.
At the same time, the Organizing Committee of the Forum will publish a Report to recognize mechanisms and recommendations to promote the role of young Vietnamese intellectuals globally in the period of 2025 - 2030, vision 2045; Global Young Vietnamese intellectual Database; Forum strategy.
