On March 30, according to information from Military Region 7, to prepare for the new school year 2026 - 2027, Military Region 7 organized the announcement and awarding of decisions to the School Board of Directors, mobilizing officers and professional soldiers from units to work at the Southern Military Youth School; visiting and exchanging practical experiences at training facilities, serving as a basis for building schools according to the smart school model.
To date, Military Region 7 has mobilized and appointed 91/211 officers, professional soldiers, and non-commissioned officers - soldiers.
The organizational structure of the Southern Military School currently includes: Board of Directors, departments, functional departments; 5 faculties of teachers: Faculty of Natural Sciences; Faculty of Social Sciences; Faculty of Military Affairs and Humanities; Faculty of Informatics; Faculty of Foreign Languages, with a total of over 200 officials, teachers, and staff.
The Southern Military Junior High School (Ben Dinh hamlet, Nhuan Duc commune, Ho Chi Minh City) operates under a boarding model, strictly managing students both in study and living, ensuring a safe and healthy training environment. Training the general education system from grades 6 to 12; training international students from grades 10 to 12.
Annually, based on assigned targets to organize enrollment and admission; subjects who are children of ethnic minorities, policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious services to the revolution in particularly difficult circumstances in Military Region 7 and Military Region 9; training international students (Laos, Cambodia... ) and other subjects decided by competent authorities.
Up to now, the school's items and works have been invested in and built modernly, ensuring learning, living, and training conditions for about 1,000 students.
Immediately after the announcement ceremony of the establishment decision on March 28, the school is expected to hold the opening ceremony of the first course in September 2026.
In the 2026 - 2027 school year, the School organizes training for 2 grades 6 with a total number of 100 students; in which Military Region 7 and Military Region 9, each unit selects 1 class of 50 students.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, the Command of Military Region 5 and Military Region 1 respectively organized the Ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Central Military School and the Northern Military School on March 20 and March 27.
According to information from the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, military junior high schools under Military Regions 1, 5 and 7 have the function of basic cultural education, high school according to the program of the Ministry of Education and Training; closely combining political education, military training, physical training and life skills.
This model also creates a source of future cadres for the Army and the country; caring for and supporting students who are children of ethnic minorities, policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and those in particularly difficult circumstances.
