The Academy of Science and Technology reduces to 24 units

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology reduced 14 units to 24 units after arranging and merging within the apparatus.

The Government issued Decree No. 38/2025/ND-CP dated February 26, 2025, stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Decree No. 38/2025/ND-CP stipulates the organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to be reduced from 38 to 24 units, including:

1. Organizing Committee - Cadres and Inspectorate;

2. Planning and Finance Department;

3. International Cooperation Committee;

4. Technology Application and Deployment Board;

5. Office;

6. Institute of Mathematics;

7. Institute of Physics;

8. Institute of Chemistry;

9. Institute of Mechanical Engineering;

10. Institute of Biology;

11. Institute of Earth Sciences;

12. Institute of Oceanography;

13. Institute of Energy and Environment Science and Technology;

14. Institute of Materials Science;

15. Institute of Information Technology;

16. Institute of Life Sciences;

17. Institute of Advanced Technology;

18. Vietnam Space Center;

19. High-tech Research and Development Center;

20. Center for Scientific Data and Information;

21. Vietnam Museum of Nature;

22. Natural Science and Technology Publishing House;

23. Academy of Science and Technology;

24. Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Units 1 to 5 are specialized units serving the Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The office is organized with 8 rooms. Units 6 to 18 are public science and technology organizations. Units 19 to 24 are other public service units.

The President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology stipulates the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of affiliated units.

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has a President and no more than 4 Vice Presidents.

The President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister.

The Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology are appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister at the request of the President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

This Decree takes effect from March 1, 2025.
