On July 4, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan - Head of the Hue City Forest Protection Department said that the unit is directing Tien Phong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. and the Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan Inter-district Forest Protection Department to grasp the situation and promptly report the incident of some unusually dead plastic pine trees in the locality.
Previously, in mid-June 2025, in Zone 1, Sub-zone 154, Thuy Bang Ward (now Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City) discovered 6 plastic pine trees 8 - 9m high, vanh 77 - 111cm with drilled holes, poured with chemicals, leading to withered trunks, branches, and leaves, no longer able to recover.
The pine trees are located near Minh Mang Street, in an area managed by Tien Phong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., away from residential areas and tombs.
According to the company's leaders, after discovering the incident, the unit invited the authorities to inspect the scene, increase patrols, protect, prevent illegal mining, cutting down and monitoring to detect the harmful object. The sabotage was considered sophisticated, with the drill small (1cm in diameter), hidden under the Earth's crust, only about 10cm from the ground.
The company plans to send a document to the local police for coordination in verifying and handling according to legal regulations.
