On the afternoon of September 22 (local time) in New York City, USA, General Secretary and President To Lam attended and spoke at a seminar with the theme "Strengthening Vietnam - US cooperation in developing the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence".
According to VOV, highly appreciating the enthusiastic statements, going straight to the issues of Vietnam - US cooperation opportunities in the fields of semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence (AI), General Secretary and President To Lam stated that Vietnam is determined to develop the country quickly and sustainably based on science, technology, and innovation.
The Party and State of Vietnam also identified three strategic breakthroughs for the country's socio-economic development by 2030, in which the development of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries is an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a priority in the development of science and technology; which will lead to the development of other supporting industries.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized: "Regarding the three strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure and human resource development, we also focus mainly on digital transformation based on high-tech science development. For example, regarding the institutional perfection in the digital economy, building sustainable infrastructure as you have just proposed, we will ensure the supply of clean energy to ensure the development of this digital technology and also ensure suitable water sources for development, while also ensuring infrastructure, not only air, sea and road routes, domestic railways with international connections".
The General Secretary and President said that cooperation in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence will open up many opportunities for businesses of both Vietnam and the US to promote and exploit the advantages of each side.
Pointing out that Vietnam has strengths and opportunities to develop the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry, the General Secretary and President said that over the past 20 years, Vietnam has created hundreds of thousands of programmers and millions of people working in information technology, which is an important basis to affirm that human resources in the field of artificial intelligence and semiconductors are one of Vietnam's strengths.
General Secretary and President To Lam said: "Many of our localities are eager to have American investors come to their localities. We also create the best infrastructure and conditions for investment development in Vietnam. At today's seminar, many leaders of our localities hope to have the opportunity to meet with investors here to have specific projects in these fields.
Vietnam always values international cooperation and understands that to succeed and go far in high-tech fields, especially the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, we can only go together and build a solid value chain; at the same time, we welcome American businesses and organizations to Vietnam to jointly develop innovative and sustainable solutions."
