In the afternoon of May 7 (local time), in Mumbai city (Maharashtra state), India, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in coordination with the Indian Industry Federation (CII) organized the Vietnam - India Business Forum.
General Secretary and President To Lam and Mr. Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra state, attended the forum.
Speaking to direct the forum, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam-India relations are not only based on the deep historical foundation laid by President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, but are also facing a historical opportunity to upgrade to strategic connectivity in new value chains; emphasizing the message: Cooperation between the two countries must be placed in the flow of the most dynamic growth centers and pioneering trends of the world such as digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and green transformation.
General Secretary and President To Lam pointed out that it is time for Vietnam-India cooperation to be elevated to a new level - not only expanding in scale, but more importantly, improving quality, depth and strategic value.
General Secretary and President To Lam requested the business community of the two countries to focus on breakthrough cooperation priorities: Expanding trade in a more balanced and sustainable direction, better taking advantage of the complementarity between the two economies; promoting investment in key areas of the future such as information technology, AI, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clean energy, logistics, data centers and research and development; strengthening infrastructure connectivity, logistics, aviation and tourism, creating conditions for goods flows, capital flows and human resources to flow more smoothly; promoting cooperation in training high-quality human resources and knowledge transfer, promoting complementary strengths between the two economies.
Vietnam is committed to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of investors, strengthening dialogue and creating a transparent and healthy competitive business environment. Vietnam hopes that it will not only be a place for businesses to invest, but also a place where businesses can develop long-term and sustainably engage.
General Secretary and President To Lam hoped that Vietnamese and Indian businesses would be more proactive and bold in investing, linking, sharing technology and expanding markets, turning meetings, exchanges, and contacts into specific agreements, contracts, and projects; affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam will also always accompany the business community to turn projects, contracts, and cooperation agreements into new success stories in Vietnam-India cooperation relations.
