On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (March 22, 1955 - March 22, 2026), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
The content of the congratulatory telegram reads:
Throughout the 71-year historical journey, under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos has achieved many important and comprehensive achievements in all fields; political stability has continued to be maintained, socio-economic development has achieved positive results, people's lives have been increasingly improved, and Laos' role and position have been constantly enhanced in the region and internationally. The great and comprehensive achievements of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party are a great source of encouragement and motivation for the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
The Party, State and People of Vietnam always cherish and deeply appreciate the sincere and meaningful support that the Party, State and People of fraternal Laos have given to Vietnam in the revolutionary cause in the past as well as in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland today. We are extremely pleased that the two Parties and States have agreed to supplement the content of "strategic cohesion" into the framework of relations, bringing Vietnam-Laos relations to a new height with the motto "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion". This is an important development step, reflecting deep political trust and common determination to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two Parties, States and Peoples of the two countries.
The Party, State and People of Vietnam strongly and comprehensively support Laos' renovation and affirm that they will continue to stand side by side, accompany and give the highest support to the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in the process of successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 5th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan; successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic and prosperous Lao People's Democratic Republic.
We are pleased to see that, along with the important achievements that the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries have achieved in the past time, the special relationship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam founded and cultivated by the great President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane, respected President Souphanouvong, has been painstakingly nurtured by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries, continuing to be consolidated and comprehensively developed, increasingly going into depth, practicality and effectiveness.
The Communist Party of Vietnam is committed to continuing to closely coordinate with the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to effectively implement the Joint Statements, Agreements, and Agreements signed between the two Parties and two Governments during the visits of senior leaders of the two countries in the past time.
