General Secretary highly appreciates the effectiveness of cooperation between the two Ministries of Public Security of Vietnam - Laos

General Secretary To Lam was pleased with the good development of Vietnam-Laos relations, including the very important contribution of the security forces of the two countries.

On the afternoon of March 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a high-level delegation of the Lao Ministry of Public Security led by Senior Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Public Security of Laos who is on a visit and working trip to Vietnam.

The General Secretary emphasized the special role of the traditional and close cooperative relationship between the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries, and sent congratulations to Senior Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany on being elected as a member of the Secretariat and appointed as Minister of Public Security of Laos.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at the good development of Vietnam-Laos relations, in which there is a very important contribution from the security forces of the two countries; affirmed that Vietnam always values and gives top priority to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos, considering this a strategic task of vital importance to the development of each country; emphasized that Vietnam always supports Laos' development, is ready to share experiences with Laos in all fields, and the two countries Vietnam - Laos will hold hands firmly and move forward together to develop.

The General Secretary highly appreciated the close and effective cooperation between the two Ministries of Public Security of the two countries, which deserves to be one of the pillars in the relationship between the two countries, contributing to maintaining security, social order and safety of each country.

The General Secretary requested that in the coming time, the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries continue to promote good traditions, strengthen mutual support and assistance, closely coordinate, strengthen information exchange and work experience, firmly grasp the situation, and effectively coordinate in combating sabotage activities of hostile forces; closely cooperate in preventing and combating peaceful evolution, riots and overthrows, preventing and combating transnational crimes, especially drug crimes,... ensuring security, order and building a peaceful, stable and developed border between the two countries; the two sides resolutely and persistently prevent hostile forces from taking advantage of the territory of one country to sabotage the other.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam congratulated the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (March 22, 1955 - March 22, 2026), and conveyed his cordial greetings and best wishes to General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and senior leaders of Laos.

Senior Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany sincerely thanked for the great, timely and effective support and assistance that Vietnam has given to Laos from the past to present; respectfully sent to General Secretary To Lam the greetings and wishes for good health from General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

Senior Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany affirmed that the Lao Ministry of Public Security will continue to promote tradition, closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in firmly protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety in all circumstances, contributing to maintaining and fostering the special solidarity relationship between Laos and Vietnam to develop more and more.
