On the afternoon of February 6, at the headquarters of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), General Secretary To Lam, along with CPP Chairman Hun Sen and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongloun Sisoulith, co-chaired the meeting between the leaders of the three parties Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos.
Also attending the Meeting were the Prime Ministers of the three countries, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Chairman of the National Assembly of Cambodia.
Looking back at the past year, the three leaders agreed that cooperation between the three countries has achieved many positive achievements, increasingly consolidated and developed.
The three leaders of the three Parties agreed to continue to strengthen solidarity, maintain regular consultations and close coordination, in order to protect the legitimate interests of each country, and at the same time maintain a peaceful and stable environment to focus on development.
The three leaders agreed to continue to regularly maintain the mechanism of meetings with the heads of three Parties, three Governments, three National Assemblies, three Ministers of National Defense, three Ministers of Public Security, three Ministers of Foreign Affairs and many other trilateral mechanisms; maintain the principle of not allowing any individual or organization to use the territory of this country to harm the security of each country; coordinate well in managing and protecting the borders of the three countries to promote the prevention of transnational crime, including drug crime, human trafficking, and high-tech crime.
Regarding economy - trade - investment, the three sides agreed to continue to further deepen economic linkages in a practical, effective, and sustainable direction, creating breakthroughs in close economic linkages, infrastructure and participation in supply chains, in the spirit of exploiting strengths that can complement each other between the three economies, especially in the fields of institutions, finance, transport infrastructure, logistics, energy, telecommunications and tourism, building production - consumption linkages; effectively implementing signed cooperation agreements and agreements, and improving policies, creating conditions for trade development, especially border trade; creating favorable conditions for the circulation of goods, services and investment between the three countries; encouraging, creating favorable conditions and supporting businesses of the three countries to expand investment in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, renewable energy, agriculture, high technology, processing, green development, digital economy, tourism and other fields.
In order to support each other in improving the quality of human resources, well meeting the requirements for the new development stage, the three leaders of the three Parties affirmed to continue to promote the linkage of education and training in a long-term direction, considering education and training as a bridge connecting the young generation, fostering understanding, trust and strong friendship between the young generations of the two and three countries; creating maximum favorable conditions, including the innovation of government scholarship programs, scholarships, tuition fee exemptions and reductions for students from the remaining two countries to study in their countries, considering this as an important measure to link education, training and human resource development between the three countries; strengthening links, expanding exchanges and exchanges of lecturers and students between leading universities of the two and three countries; coordinating high-quality human resource training to make practical contributions to the sustainable development of each country.
At the end of the meeting, the three leaders agreed to hold the 5th Meeting of the Heads of the Three Parties in 2027 in Laos.
