The three Prime Ministers of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia agreed to identify 5 breakthrough areas in the coming time in the afternoon meeting on February 6.

On the afternoon of February 6, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to deploy the results of the meeting between the leaders of the three parties Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos that just took place earlier.

At the meeting, the three Prime Ministers were pleased with the strong and substantial development of cooperation between the three countries in the past time, contributing to consolidating and further deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos; emphasized the strategic importance of attachment, political trust and solidarity between the three countries; agreed to continue to strengthen exchanges, training young people and young leaders and promote widespread propaganda to all classes of people, especially the young generation, about the historical significance and great value of the three-country cooperation relations, especially on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Cambodia - Laos relations (June 15, 1956 - June 15, 2026); 65 years of Vietnam - Laos relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2027) and 60 years of Vietnam - Cambodia relations (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2027).

The three Prime Ministers affirmed to continue to strengthen coordination in ensuring national security, building and developing the country; regularly maintain high-level meetings and contacts on all channels; promote cooperation between localities, especially provinces sharing borders and strengthen people-to-people exchanges; agreed to effectively implement signed cooperation mechanisms and agreements, strengthen information sharing, and close coordination between ministries and sectors.

Regarding national defense and security, the three Prime Ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation and coordination to protect border security, prevent and combat transnational crimes such as drugs, human trafficking, money laundering; persist in the principle of not allowing any individual or force to use their country's territory to harm the security of another country, and jointly build a border of peace, friendship, stability and development.

Regarding economy, the three sides agreed to continue to have policies and measures to facilitate and encourage trade, investment, and cooperation in a complementary, win-win direction, strongly shifting from scale expansion to improving quality and efficiency; promoting the connection of the three economies; taking the connection of transport infrastructure, logistics and border gates as a breakthrough; creating favorable conditions for trade, investment and tourism; promoting value chain linkages, promoting the comparative advantages of each country; promoting tourism, especially the "One Journey Three Destinations" initiative.

The Prime Ministers of Laos and Cambodia agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to identify 5 breakthrough areas in the coming time, including transportation, energy, education and training, tourism and youth connection, especially propaganda for the young generation about the traditional relationship between the three countries.
