General Secretary To Lam warmly welcomed the historic visit of Russian President Lithuania, affirming that this is an important milestone, contributing to promoting the stronger, more substantial and more effective development of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Lithuania in the coming time.
Reviewing the positive developments in Vietnam- Lithuania relations in recent times, General Secretary To Lam thanked the Government and people of Lithuania for their valuable support and assistance to Vietnam in the previous difficult years; affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to develop relations with traditional friends, including Lithuania, an important partner of Vietnam in the region.
General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements that Lithuania has made in socio-economic development, especially its pioneering role in the fields of information technology, financial technology (Fintech), artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity - key areas in the current global digital transformation process.
President Lithuania expressed his impression and congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements of historical significance after nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi process, emphasizing that Vietnam has now become a country with a dynamic economy, deeply integrated with the world, maintained political and social stability and continuously improved people's lives; highly appreciated Vietnam's strategic vision and development orientation on science - technology, innovation, national digital transformation, international integration, and private economic development.

President Lithuania affirmed that he attached importance to Vietnam's role and position in the region and the world, and wished to further promote relations with Vietnam, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Recognizing the results of the talks between President Luong Cuong and the President of Lithuania, especially the signing of many important cooperation documents between the two sides, opening up prospects for practical cooperation in areas where Lithuania has strengths and Vietnam has needs such as science - technology, energy, high-tech agriculture, General Secretary To Lam and President Nauseda discussed major directions and measures to promote traditional friendship between the two countries through enhancing delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and all levels; promoting cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, national defense - security, science - technology, innovation, energy, agriculture and labor.
General Secretary To Lam thanked and suggested that the Lithuanian government continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work stably in Lithuania; increase training for Vietnamese students in areas where Lithuania has strengths, and build the Vietnamese community in Lithuania as a bridge to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to continue to coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and ASEM, within the framework of ASEAN-EU cooperation; affirmed support for international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS); emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation in the East Sea.
