On the afternoon of August 9, in Vientiane capital, a high-level delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam led by Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and wrote in the mourning book of Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman of Laos Saysomphone Phomvihane.
At the memorial service, in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths and observed a minute of silence in memory of the late Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane, a close and attached friend of the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Vietnam.
Recording in the mourning book at the funeral, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his boundless regret for the passing of the late Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane; emphasizing that this is a great loss for the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Lao ethnic groups; at the same time, Vietnam lost a great friend, a loyal comrade, who made many important contributions to consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos.
On behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his deepest condolences to the Party, State, National Assembly, people of Laos and the entire family of National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had a meeting with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully conveyed the sincere greetings and deep condolences of General Secretary, President To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam to General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith, senior leaders of Laos and the family of Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane.
General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his emotion and respectfully thanked the Party and State of Vietnam for sending a high-level delegation to attend the memorial service to National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane, expressing the close comradeship and brotherly affection, the special loyal and consistent solidarity between the two nations.
Sharing about the great loss of the brotherly Lao Party, State and people, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane is not only a senior leader of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, a person who has made many important contributions to the Lao revolutionary cause, as well as in the cause of building and developing Laos, he is also a leader who plays an important role in inheriting, nurturing and developing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos. His passing is a great loss for the Party, State and people of Vietnam and Laos.
The two sides affirmed that, in any circumstances, the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two countries will continue to preserve and cultivate the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and pass it on to future generations; constantly improve the effectiveness of cooperation in all fields, including cooperation between the two National Assemblies, contributing to cultivating the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, linking the Vietnam - Laos strategy to be forever green and eternally sustainable.
