Vietnam - Mongolia agree to open doors for each other's goods

Vietnam and Mongolia agreed to open their doors to each other's goods on a reciprocal basis, thereby soon increasing trade turnover to 200 million USD.

On the afternoon of September 30, within the framework of his state visit to Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam had meetings with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene and Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, at the meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene, the two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen political trust through maintaining the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels in many flexible forms; promote substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation, thereby creating a shift in economic, trade and investment cooperation; further promote the role of the Vietnam - Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee mechanism, contributing to promoting substantive and effective cooperation in the economic fields of the two countries; actively organize and mobilize businesses to participate in trade promotion programs, trade connections in each country, thereby promoting stable growth in trade cooperation; at the same time, promote people-to-people, cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries; promote deeper cooperation in the fields of labor, science and technology, information and communications.

General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the signing of a new cooperation agreement between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnam People's Party, thereby creating a foundation to promote relations between the two parties in the coming time.

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene wishes to further strengthen and expand cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of politics, defense, security, economy-trade, education, science and technology, transportation, logistics, culture, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchange, as well as at multilateral forums and mechanisms commensurate with the comprehensive partnership.

At the meeting with National Assembly Chairman Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, the two sides highly appreciated the cooperation and exchange between the two countries' National Assemblies, which are developing rapidly and becoming more substantive both bilaterally and multilaterally. The two sides agreed to continue to effectively and comprehensively implement the contents of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the two countries' National Assemblies in 2018; promote the role of the legislative bodies of the two sides in reviewing and supervising the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries; promote cooperation and exchange between the two countries' National Assemblies, increase the exchange of high-level delegations, exchanges between parliamentarians and young parliamentarians; promote the bridging role of the Friendship Parliamentary Groups of each country...

The two sides agreed to strengthen the role of the two countries' legislative bodies in coordinating to support the promotion of the connection between the two economies to develop substantially, effectively and comprehensively, in line with the Comprehensive Partnership; actively promote the organization and mobilization of enterprises of the two countries to participate in trade promotion programs and trade connections in each country; open the door to each other's goods on the basis of reciprocity, thereby soon completing the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 200 million USD in the coming time; at the same time, strengthen investment promotion activities and boost cooperation in diversifying the supply chain of raw materials, especially in industries where both sides have strengths; and promote the early signing of a new Agreement on encouragement and protection of investment between Vietnam and Mongolia.

The two sides agreed to further strengthen protection and support work so that the overseas Vietnamese communities of the two countries can feel secure living, studying and working in each country; coordinate to promote cultural and sports cooperation and exchange activities to enhance understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries; support the training of Vietnamese athletes to Mongolia to train in Mongolia's strong fields such as archery, wrestling, boxing, judo; enhance the promotion of tourism potential and strengths, actively share information on the tourism situation, policies and experiences in tourism management and development in each country; and promote local cooperation between the two countries.
