On the evening of October 29 (local time), President of South Korea Lee Jae Myung held a dinner party to welcome the APEC leaders who arrived in the ancient capital Gyeongju (South Korea) to attend the 2025 APEC Summit.
In his opening speech, the President of the Republic of Korea expressed his pleasure at welcoming APEC leaders in the ancient capital of Gyeongju, affirming that APEC 2025 is an important milestone in efforts to promote regional cooperation for a connected, creative and prosperous Asia-Pacific.
President Lee Jae Myung emphasized that South Korea wishes to strengthen dialogue with member economies, strengthen confidence and act together for peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.
In an intimate and open atmosphere, APEC leaders discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific regions, affirming APEC's central role in promoting trade, investment, innovation and inclusive and sustainable growth.
Discussing at the event, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong emphasized 3 key goals that countries need to coordinate to promote: peace, prosperity and sustainable development for all economies.
The President affirmed that, with a understanding of the value of peace and national independence, Vietnam is ready to participate in mediation efforts, reconciliation, conflict resolution, peacekeeping and peacekeeping, as well as actively contributing to the international community's post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
President Luong Cuong also stated that prosperity for all countries can only be achieved on the basis of sincere, equal, mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual respect.
The President affirmed that as host of APEC 2027, Vietnam will closely coordinate with members to promote APEC's achievements, ensuring Asia-Pacific is a land of opportunities and success.
