On July 30, the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, held a second session for the 2021-2026 term to review and decide on many important contents under its authority.
Reporting to the People's Council of Vinh Long province, the Provincial People's Committee said that in the first 6 months of 2025, through inspection activities in Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre (before the merger), the relevant agencies discovered many cases related to corruption and negativity.
The Inspectorate of Tra Vinh Provincial Police discovered a case of taking advantage of position and power in performing official duties at the Provincial Traffic Police Department (PC08). In this case, there are 7 defendants involved.
The Inspectorate of Ben Tre province discovered and recommended transferring the investigation agency of two cases with signs of crime when conducting an inspection of compliance with legal regulations in the management of financial revenue and expenditure, budget and basic construction investment at the Mo Cay Bac District Investment and Construction Project Management Board and the People's Committee of Hoa Loc Commune (old Mo Cay Bac District).
In Vinh Long, the authorities have discovered 3 corruption cases. Of which, the Provincial Police investigated 2 cases related to banking activities and embezzlement of assets.
One incident occurred at Nguyen Hue Transaction Office (Quoc Dan Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Vinh Long Branch), the other incident occurred at the repair of the fire protection system in the examination area and the dialysis area of the Provincial General Hospital.
The remaining case related to corruption occurred at Notary Office No. 2 (Department of Justice of Vinh Long Province) discovered by Can Tho City Police.
In Tra Vinh (old), the prosecution agency received a petition to prosecute two cases: embezzlement at the Chau Thanh District Labor Federation and taking advantage of position at the drug rehabilitation facility in Da Loc commune.
