On the afternoon of December 28, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the conference to review 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025 of the Oil and Gas industry.
In 2024, all production targets of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) exceeded the plan by 6% to 24%, of which electricity production increased by 25.8%; gasoline production increased by 6.7%, and NPK fertilizer production increased by 19.5%.
After being resolved by the Government and Ministries, the Group basically completed handling long-standing difficult projects and put them into safe and effective operation such as the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Project, a number of key projects such as the Lot B - O Mon Project Chain, Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Projects... were urgently implemented according to the set plan.
Social security work has been responded to and implemented by PVN and all oil and gas industry workers with a value of over 617 billion VND in 2024; actively participating in the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
The Group continues to affirm its important role and pioneering nature in implementing major programs of the Party and State, especially pioneering in the field of offshore wind power industry, participating in the global energy chain.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the important results that the oil and gas industry has achieved in 2024, making important contributions to the country's development, especially contributing to ensuring the five security factors: energy security, food security, economic security, social security and security of the country's sea and island sovereignty.
The Prime Minister pointed out 3 lessons learned, emphasizing that PVN has complied with the leadership and direction of all levels; boldly dared to think, dare to do, dare to innovate to achieve the highest results; grasped the situation, closely followed the practical situation to handle flexibly, promptly, and effectively, thereby proposing creative and timely solutions.
In addition, the Prime Minister pointed out the existing limitations, especially the idea of not being subjective, negligent, or losing vigilance, always having to prepare quick response plans, limit risks and not let risks happen.
The Prime Minister emphasized that we must transform faster, bolder, more effectively, more rapidly, more sustainably and more effectively to suit the situation because time, intelligence and determination are the three factors that create success.
The Prime Minister requested PVN to continue to carefully review each production and business plan target set for 2025, striving to achieve the highest double-digit growth target to contribute to the country's growth in 2025.
