In 2024, Binh Duong Power Company (PC Binh Duong) has implemented many forms and solutions to propagate, communicate, mobilize, recommend, and warn people about electrical safety, focusing on legal documents related to electrical safety and situations that may occur during the use of electricity.
Propaganda contributes greatly to raising awareness among people, organizations and businesses in using electricity safely.
However, there are still many households, families and businesses violating electrical safety. PC Binh Duong has inspected and issued 300 warning notices to households and businesses violating the safety corridor of high-voltage power grids, handled 25 cases of violating the safety corridor of power grids using technical solutions and mobilized households to dismantle and relocate construction parts and houses violating the safety corridor of power grids.
Most violations are caused by people arbitrarily installing signs, light boxes, billboards, scaffolding, constructing buildings, repairing houses, awnings surrounding electric poles and public lighting poles, violating the safety corridor of the power grid.
In 2024, Binh Duong province had an electrical accident in which one person died and one person was injured (2 cases less than in 2023). The cause was that people were installing an advertising board in violation of the high-voltage discharge safety distance and touched an electrified communication cable, and repairing electricity after the meter caused an electric leak, leading to an electrical accident.
Most recently, at 10 p.m. on November 12, in Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province, due to people's carelessness when burning trash, the fire spread to the electric pole, burning the information and telecommunication cables hanging on the pole. PC Binh Duong coordinated with the authorities to urgently extinguish the fire immediately afterwards. Although only some electrical equipment was damaged and the power supply was not interrupted, it showed that people's awareness of safe electricity use was still negligent.
To ensure electrical safety during the Lunar New Year 2025, PC Binh Duong recommends that people and businesses do not set up miniature landscapes, decorations... under power lines or within the safety corridor of the high-voltage power grid because of the high risk of short circuits and explosions. When setting up decorative works inside and on both sides of the power grid corridor, people and businesses must coordinate with the electricity industry to implement safety measures, absolutely do not set up poles, trees for decoration, erect flagpoles, install broadcasting antennas and other items in locations that, when they fall, can collide with the power grid works,...
