CIC and DIV sign Agreement on providing information and data on deposits

On January 3, 2025, with the approval of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the National Credit Information Center of Vietnam (CIC) and the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) signed an Agreement on providing information and data to support the implementation of deposit insurance activities. This is an important milestone, demonstrating progress in the cooperative relationship between the two parties for the common goal of ensuring safety and stability for the Vietnamese banking system.

The agreement is established between the Information Provider (CIC) and the Information Recipient (DIV) to provide credit information to support the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam in implementing deposit insurance activities in accordance with the provisions of law, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of depositors, implementing deposit insurance policies to contribute to maintaining the stability of the credit institution system and ensuring the safe and healthy development of banking activities, according to the assigned functions and tasks of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam.

The signing ceremony of the Agreement on providing information and data to support the implementation of deposit insurance activities between CIC and DIV took place at the "Conference on implementing tasks in 2025" of DIV. Attending the signing ceremony were representatives of the SBV's leadership, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Governor of the SBV; representatives of the CIC's leadership, Mr. Cao Van Binh - Chairman of the CIC Management Board, Mr. Tran Trung Dung - Acting General Director of CIC; representatives of the DIV's leadership, Mr. Pham Bao Lam - Chairman of the DIV Board of Directors, Mr. Dang Duy Cuong - General Director of DIV and representatives of a number of related units of the SBV.

According to the commitment in the Agreement, CIC will provide the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam with credit information on a number of entities under special control, based on 04 required forms and 02 available forms. The forms provided by CIC are developed and adjusted to ensure consistency between DIV's information exploitation needs and CIC's data provision capabilities, while complying with current legal regulations.

“CIC commits to providing complete, accurate and transparent credit information data to support DIV in risk assessment, thereby improving the effectiveness of deposit insurance and better protecting the interests of depositors in the coming period” - Mr. Cao Van Binh emphasized the cooperative relationship between CIC and DIV in the future.

The information and data provided by CIC to DIV will be deployed through the SBV's DB Gateway, located at the Information Technology Department. It is expected that the information exploitation report templates will be developed, completed and officially provided from the second quarter of 2025.
