In the context of increasingly deep regional economic integration, connecting local economies with international shipping routes has become a key factor to promote trade and development. As a vivid testament to the strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Lao - Vietnam International Port Joint Stock Company (VLP) has gradually affirmed its role as a logistics center and an important trade gateway, not only for Laos but also for the Northeast region of Thailand.

Laos - Vietnam International Port is located in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ha Tinh Province - a strategic location directly connecting to National Highway 12C of Vietnam, convenient for trade with Laos and Thailand via routes. With that advantage, VLP plays a key role in promoting import and export of goods, contributing to the formation of a regional economic corridor.
VLP's main business line includes seaport services and specialized logistics. In addition to goods unloading, storage and preservation services, the company also provides diverse services such as maritime agents, loading, domestic transportation and customs declaration. This comprehensive integration not only helps shorten transportation time but also optimizes costs for businesses, improving competitiveness.
Exploitation capacity is one of the factors that make up the power of VLP. The company currently owns 03 modern wharves, which can receive ships with a capacity of up to 61,671 DWT. The total capacity of goods unloading reaches about 6 million tons/year. The large warehouse system includes both a container yard and an outdoor warehouse, meeting the diverse needs of goods storage.

The highlight of the port's operational capacity is the modern loading and unloading equipment system, imported from the world's leading brands. Including mobile crane, embankment crane, loading and unloading vehicles and many other specialized machines, helping loading and unloading activities to take place quickly, safely and meet international standards. On April 28, 2025, the company held the inauguration ceremony of wharf No. 3 and officially put the wharf into operation, contributing to improving the capacity to receive ships and handle goods of the port, while marking a new step in the scale expansion strategy.
As a "long-inning arm to the sea" of Laos, Lao - Vietnam International Port contributes to reducing dependence on third-party seaports, creating favorable conditions for import and export activities, especially for the Northeastern provinces of Thailand. This is a clear demonstration of the strategic vision of the two governments in building an effective, sustainable and mutually developed economic corridor.
Looking forward to the future, with a solid foundation in geographical location, exploitation capacity and support from the two Governments, Lao - Vietnam International Port Joint Stock Company is committed to continuing to develop strongly, becoming a symbol of cooperation and prosperity between the two countries of Vietnam and Laos.
