Since officially put into commercial operation on October 30, 2021, Kosy Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant (phase 1 capacity 40.5 MW) was built on a total area of about 6,600ha, spreading through Hoa Binh and Vinh Hau communes, Ca Mau province, becoming an important green power source to supplement the Southern power grid, providing an average output of about 85 million kWh/year.
After more than 4 years of operation, the plant has generated more than 335 million kWh into the grid, contributing to ensuring energy security in the Mekong Delta region and reducing pressure on traditional power sources.
In addition to providing stable green power sources, the plant brings clear economic value. On average, each year, the plant has contributed about 14 billion VND to the local budget, creating stable jobs for dozens of workers, thereby contributing to improving income and developing specialized human resources in the field of renewable energy in Ca Mau province.
The plant maintains stable operation by complying with periodic maintenance 2 times/year for the turbine system and transformer station, and at the same time continuously monitoring technical parameters to promptly adjust and optimize performance.
In parallel, the SCADA system and LiDAR technology are applied to monitor in real time, proactively control the rotation direction and wing angle of turbines in the face of weather changes. The operating staff are periodically trained in electrical safety, fire prevention and fighting, rescue and incident response, ensuring they are always ready and promptly handle any arising situations.
Continuing the success of Kosy Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant, Mr. Vo Van Dau - Deputy Director of Operation Management said that in the coming time, the unit plans to prepare to deploy Hoa Binh 6 Wind Power Plant - Phase 1 with a capacity of 40 MW in Ca Mau.
