EVNHANOI ensures safe and continuous power supply during holidays

ANH HUY |

EVNHANOI has developed a plan to ensure safe and continuous power supply for service points celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

Accordingly, Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) will not stop or reduce power supply to upgrade the entire power grid to points related to power assurance (if any) from 0:00 on October 10, 2024 to 24:00 on October 10, 2024 and during the rehearsal period and organization of activities.

Develop a plan to ensure continuous and safe electricity, with backup for locations of political and cultural activities, practice and rehearsal locations for the celebration.

Key locations are powered by dual grid power sources with automatic transfer switch (ATS) and backup generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

At the same time, EVNHANOI has arranged staff on duty and is ready to handle incidents and repair electricity 24/7.

EVNHANOI requires units to strengthen contact inspection, measure power lines and stations to ensure electricity, promptly detect cases of overload and unsafe contact to have a solution.

In addition, the units have developed plans and conducted drills to handle incidents proactively in ensuring electricity as well as checking the operating status of the system. At transformer stations, the management team also conducted inspections of fire and explosion prevention.

EVNHANOI has proactively contacted relevant units to check the operation and load test the systems at power supply points during the annual celebration of the Capital Liberation Day, including: Areas around Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, August Revolution Square, Ha Dong District Central Flower Garden, My Dinh National Stadium, Temple of Literature, Bach Thao Park, Thu Le Park, Thong Nhat Park, Son Tay Town Children's Cultural House, etc.

Power companies have proactively coordinated with the People's Committees of districts to obtain information and ensure electricity when required. They have arranged to increase patrols of cable lines to prevent cases of digging that violate the safety corridor of cable lines and cause incidents.

In addition, the Power Companies have prepared enough equipment, spare materials and generators, mobile power units and power cables for the machines ready to work as backup and handle any situation.

According to Mr. Pham Thai Son - Head of Technical and Safety Department, Hoan Kiem Electricity Company, Hoan Kiem Electricity Company has proactively reviewed and inspected electrical cabinet locations and electrical equipment in the area around Hoan Kiem Lake.

In addition, with a 24/7 on-duty force, a safe, continuous and stable power supply will be ensured throughout the event. EVNHANOI also recommends that people during the event days do not shoot fireworks, metallic confetti, release sky lanterns, fly kites, or use flying toys or devices in areas with power grid lines and power stations.

Do not abuse electric poles and power stations as shops and other forms of business; businesses and enterprises need to carefully review fire and explosion risks related to the electrical system. Turn off unnecessary electrical equipment when not in use.

EVNHANOI will also urge and require units to implement the established power assurance plan, closely follow and grasp the requirements for additional power assurance to promptly mobilize units for implementation.

With thorough preparation, EVNHANOI has fully prepared human resources, equipment, and spare materials ready for any situation, ensuring a safe, continuous, and stable power source to serve the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day.
